White Words is a 10-meter-tall spiral-shaped tower, with varying width and thickness, combined with oblique angles twisting from the floor to the ceiling. The tower is made from white plastic, and is mounted on an iron construction that stretches between the ceiling and the floor, placed on the square area of KUA 2.

In the plastic spiral letters, words, and sentences are cut out. These consist of different quotes and fragments of stories, which all deal with the concept of language. Among these are parts of the Tower of the Babel myth as well as several quotes from Wittgenstein. However, Peter Callesen’s own words and sentences are also included. Some words and sentences are reversed or written in foreign languages, and the text becomes more nonsensical and obscure the closer one gets to the top of the tower.

The carved out words and letters from the tower are “wallpapered” on the surrounding walls, so that letters and words almost blend into the building.
“The writing on the walls” will not immediately appear to the viewer, but as one looks closer, one will soon discover them.
