Bunker installation

pigs’ blood and ocre pigment
8 x 4 x 2 m
In 1995 Peter Callesen painted the insides of a German bunker on the west coast of Denmark. The various paintings depict The Holocaust, although they look like prehistoric cave paintings. The paint is a mixture of pigs’ blood and ocre.
The bunker is located in Hovvig by Stadil Fjord in Jutland. Now that the bunker is slowly falling into the sea, Peter decided to come forward as the artist behind these paintings.
